8 March 2026, the M1 Expressway has finally been completed, connecting Doetinlingen to Omigrad, passing by Emmelburg, Brasbeke and Diknep. The Minister of Transport Ad Hessink has inaugurated the completion of the M1 Motorway, praising how it will “finally connect Doetinlingen to Omigrad without passing by national roads which will save so much time for drivers”.
